Twenty one year old Nakita Edwards of St. Lucia has copped the Best Overall award in the ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) Professional Scheme examinations for the session December 2006 among students studying in Trinidad . An Overall award is given to any affiliate who completes the entire examination programme within five sittings over a period of three years at maximum. Ms. Edwards, a Kittitian by birth, also emerged on top of the standings for four other categories capturing first place in Parts I, II and III and Paper 3.6 examinations.

Ms. Edwards began studying in Trinidad in September 2004 and completed the entire programme in December 2006. In Trinidad , she attended the School of Business & Computer Science (SBCS) and Students Accountancy Centre (SAC). She is currently employed at one of the big four accounting firms, Ernst & Young in Barbados and lectures part time at Prestige Accounting Bookstore & Accountancy Centre. A true Caribbean young woman, Ms. Edwards' mother is a St. Lucia native and she grew up on the island. She has divided her time between St. Lucia and St. Kitts, also her father's birthplace, and within recent years, Trinidad and now Barbados.

Nakita Edwards is a true exemplar of success for other young people who are in the midst of pursuing the ACCA qualification. The ACCA extends our warmest congratulations to her for a job well done.
