OUR VISION
To be the premier choice within the local and regional marketplace for personal and professional training solutions and support.
OUR MISSION
To provide quality, affordable, reliable and professional training solutions, enabling our customers to achieve their career objectives, while adding value to their lives.
CORPORATE HISTORY
Prestige Accounting was established in April 2000, by its Managing Director, David Simpson.
The primary objective at that time was to fill a void faced by many local students including himself who were pursuing the qualifications of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, by providing the opportunity to have access to professional training and other support during their periods of study.
Today, the Company concentrates on creating strategies for the creative and effective delivery of professional training locally and regioanlly that will allow it to fulfill its mission and corporate vision.
From inception the Company has operated a Bookshop service, and 2001 introduced the training services and solutions offered through the Accountancy College.
Prestige Accounting continues to be the major provider for ACCA training and support to such firms as PricewaterhouseCoopers, Ernst & Young, Deloitte, KPMG and several private sector organizations and their employees pursuing these qualifications.
Additionally, the Company has been involved over the past three years in an extensive training programme for finance officers within the Government of Barbados, through its Training Administration Division, as they prepare for the implementation of an accruals based accounting system in 2007.
In July 2007, Prestige Accounting commenced provision of professional training in the British Virgin Islands, as part of its vision and mandate to provide its services throughout the region through quality alliances, and a local presence in various territories.
ACCREDITATION
A major aspect of providing professional training involves the need to adhere to quality standards. This is a requirement taken very seriously by Prestige Accounting, its Directors, Advisors and Employees.
ACCA Learning Partnerships
On December 20, 2010 the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) awarded Prestige Accounting Bookshop & Accountancy College, Platinum Status under its Approved Learning Partnerships (ALP) programme. The new accreditation approval is effective from January 1, 2011 for a three year period.
Prestige Accounting has previously met the passing grade the ALP scheme and was awarded Gold Status under that scheme back in September 2007. Our Gold approval was maintained between September 2007 and December 2011.
Achieving continual recognition under this scheme confirms the quality work, results and environment we have provided over the past six years and continue to provide to our students and customers today.
Prestige Accounting initially attained Registered Status in 2003, under the ACCA's, University and College Registration Scheme (UCRS).
The purpose of that scheme was to ensure that ACCA could recommend quality providers to its students seeking professional training options worldwide. In September 2007, a new scheme was launched – ACCA Learning Partnerships – recognizing the work done by ACCA and its training stakeholders together to ensure that students have access to quality training wherever they may be worldwide.
Barbados Accreditation Council
As part of its effort to meet the highest standards for professional training, Prestige Accounting is currently pursuing its registration with the Council, and has committed itself to having this process completed by December 2010.
We view the mandate of the Council as being very relevant in the current local economic and social framework, and to this end have made ourselves available and have been involved in several consultations with the Council and its staff.
Caribbean Area Network for Quality Assurance in Tertiary Education (CANQATE)
Prestige Accounting has attained full membership of the CANQATE group for the period 2009-2010. Quality in the provision of our training offerings has been of paramount importance to our Company, and we pleased to join the group in support of the enhancement and advancement of quality education at all levels, including tertiary and higher education locally, regionally and internationally.
